- In Windows 2003 Server the Uninstall
option for TCP/IP is disabled since it is a core component. To reinstall
TCP/IP, you need to use the following command netsh int ip reset logfilename.
It also supports IPv6, though your entire network (routers, etc) must support
it. Here's a brief illustration of installing, viewing and pinging the

Study guide to help
prepare for the 70-244 exam
Even though Win2k and Windows XP is their future, Microsoft cannot lay
Windows NT 4 to rest. They've acknowledged that NT 4 domain will remain for a
few more years and have created an exam to test people supporting this
environment. It counts as an elective for the Win2k MCSE track. This study
will help you prepare for the new exam which went live on April 17, 2001. I
passed and so can you.
Networking
Here Al discusses and illustrates various networking topics, from how Microsoft
networking utilizes browse lists and master browsers to network troubleshooting tips.

Linux & Perl
Version 1.0 (ahhhhh! We're talking written in 1999) of the Linux IP Firewall Log Analyzer (ipfwlog.pl)
is now available for download. This Perl script reads the
/var/log/messages log file and summarizes IP packets that were filtered (denied) via
ipfwadm. Suggestions and comments welcome at al@degutis.com.
(Warning: haven't touched this since 2000)
