Earth Shadow and Belt of Venus
Have you ever noticed the orange or purple band of light on the horizon opposite the sunrise or sunset? It always catches my attention (one of my "Squirrel!" moments). It’s called the Belt of Venus and the blue sky below it is the Earth Shadow.
This photo shows it in the original shot in the top image and enhanced in Photoshop to make it stand out in the bottom image.
